Techcomlight Introduces Upgraded 35 cm Daylight Dimmer
Techcomlight is introducing a new model of its Daylight Dimmer for the Ø 35 cm Powerdaylight system. This upgraded version provides a complete, reliable and user-friendly solution for controlling the amount of daylight entering a Powerdaylight system.
Following the introduction of the 35 cm model, the Ø 25 cm and Ø 53 cm Daylight Dimmers will also be upgraded. This phased transition will create a single modern product range featuring the same reliable technology and extensive control options.
Upgraded Control Damper with Belimo Actuator
The Ø 35 cm Daylight Dimmer consists of a custom-made control damper featuring a rotating disc. The disc is finished with high-quality reflective material, allowing daylight to pass efficiently through the system when the damper is open.
Black felt is fitted around the edge of the disc. This ensures that the control damper closes securely and minimises unwanted light entering the system when it is in the closed position.
The control damper is supplied as standard with a pre-installed Belimo actuator. Belimo actuators are renowned for their reliability and long service life and are covered by a five-year manufacturer’s warranty.
Optional Plug-and-Play Control Unit
A fully prepared plug-and-play control unit is available for the new model. It can operate up to ten Daylight Dimmers. For larger installations, Techcomlight can supply a customised control unit upon request.
The control unit is housed in a robust Spelsberg enclosure with an IP66 protection rating. Thanks to its pre-installed power cable and Euro plug, the unit can be connected easily to a suitable 230 V wall socket.
Wireless Control and the Plejd App
The new control solution features a Plejd JAL-01 Shutter Controller and is supplied as standard with a white wireless GIRA ST55 wall switch incorporating a Plejd WIN-01 module.
In addition to using the wall switch, users can control the Daylight Dimmer through the Plejd app. The app allows users to:
- Open and close the Daylight Dimmer manually
- Create personalised scenes
- Set their own schedules
- Activate automatic operation using the astronomical clock
- Adjust operation according to the position of the sun
With an optional Plejd Gateway, the system can also be integrated with a range of smart-home platforms, including Apple HomeKit, Google Home, Homey and Amazon Alexa.
Ø 25 cm and Ø 53 cm Models Coming Soon
The upgraded Ø 35 cm Daylight Dimmer is available now. The Ø 25 cm and Ø 53 cm versions will subsequently be upgraded to the new model.
